自民國83年起，台灣省農林廳蠶蜂業改良場(今苗栗區農業改良場前身)與蜂蜜評鑑委員李麗玉老師合作，將台灣歷代西方蜂種保留種源約50多隻與再結合台灣各地優勢蜂種共約100多隻，在有好山好水無汙染的花蓮，經由紀錄、改良、追蹤，找出專司產蜜、產蜂王漿的蜂種。 |
